Those who are familiar with Napa Valley will recognize that there is some unusually lovely weather here. It’s a Mediterranean climate, which makes it perfect for grapes and mustard cultivation, and that doesn’t only mean there are wonderful products available for the good life. It also means sunny days, and cool temperatures most of the year. There are times when the days can tend toward warm, especially in the summer up through late fall, and the winters can also get chilly, but these are fairly moderate. It is a place of moderation, after all, and the locals enjoy a pretty amazing quality of life. There are plenty of opportunities to enjoy the outdoors, and that’s something that promotes physical as well as mental health. Travelers can enjoy a host of attractions, with a great hotel selection and plenty of restaurants to enter into the realm of the sweet life.

There are also gorgeous opportunities to enjoy the outdoors, and for those who like to keep in shape during their vacations, cycling is a wonderful thing. The weather here, along with the hills and amazing views, makes it a kind of biker’s paradise. Life on two wheels couldn’t get more picture perfect, and there’s definitely an active bicycling culture here, as evidenced by the Eagle Cycling Club . This Napa Valley organization is devoted to giving bicycle enthusiasts in town the chance to explore the great outdoors in a lively social setting. They do many different kinds of rides, with varying distances, from short jaunts to longer tours. The emphasis here is on touring, too, and not competition, so there’s no pressure on the roads to do anything except enjoy all that there is to enjoy here.

For their tours of Napa Valley in the late summer, it’s a very big event, with picnics and other refreshments offered to the riders. There’s also a Tour of Napa Valley jersey that is specially designed for each year’s tour, and the design is also used for a special batch of wine. Even though it’s a club that’s for the residents, it adds to the lovely atmosphere that makes it a very bike-friendly place. Those who are looking for adventures on and off roads, in the vineyards, and around town, and prefer to see things from the perspective of a bicycle, this is the place to be.
