Crashing in Ibiza

Posted by Doug in Travel at 12:25 pm

As soon as we got our mopeds, we left Es Pujols to explore more of the fantastic beaches. We rode almost 10 minutes until we arrived at the beach of Platja de Llevant, which is located on the eastern end of this strip of land that gets really pounded by the ocean waves, and it was hardly populated, probably to rough of an ocean. We got out of the car and did some exploring. There really was no one about, we had the beach to ourselves, we wanted to go into the water, but it really did seem to rough to swim, so we just walked around a little and decided to check out another beach.

The western end it another strip of land called Platja de lljetes and this was definitely more populated because it was sheltered from those pounding Mediterranean waves. The water was so much more calmer. The beach was really crowded, but there were a lot of lounge chairs, so we maneuvered our way through the crowd and found two lounge chairs together and we grabbed them. We were only relaxing and gathering up the sun rays for about 15 minutes before this guy came up to us and informed us that we had to pay to use the lounge chairs, we really didn’t want to spend our limited funds on lounge chairs, so we grabbed up our beach gear and went back to our mopeds.

It was getting late and we didn’t want to miss the ferry back to Ibiza, so we headed back to the harbor, returned our mopeds and when we got back to Ibiza, we hired a car from an Ibiza car rentals and drove to the restaurant where we had made reservations for dinner and met up with some friends and raved to them about our time on Formentera. After dinner, we were absolutely exhausted, so we didn’t go clubbing that night, but instead crashed in our hotel room, it was only 9pm! That’s unheard of in Ibiza.
